I'm a Fine Artist, Sculptor, and Designer with years of experience in the Fine Art and Design fields. I live in Syracuse Utah and my studio is in my home. For full time employment I work as the Color Business Manager of one of the Countries largest Printer and Copier dealerships. I've been involved with cutting edge color technology for my whole career and am an expert. One of the exciting technological innovations in Fine Art is the ability to paint on the computer. Most people are aware that Designers use the computer every day in their work, but few people are aware that programs exist that allow a Fine Artist to paint on the computer in the medium of their choice, and then print their work as large format Fine Art Giclees. Before the availability of these programs Artist would scan their originals to digital files and then print the Giclees, and this is still widely practiced today. While it is desirable to have an original painting for it's one of a kind status when traditionally painted artwork is scanned to a digital file and then printed there is in fact digital translation of the original and there is some loss of quality that can't be avoided. This is not the case with a file that starts digitally. This is why I'm so excited about the digital medium. It is possible to limit the production Giclees to create exclusivity and raise the value of Giclee artwork as well.
I am very comfortable producing art digitally and also traditionally. I love both mediums. I tend to go through creative phases where I work digitally and then I go back to traditionally mediums as well. You'll probably notice also that I go through creative periods where I may be more interested in painting abstractly and later I may be more prone to paint representatively. I feel comfortable in multiple styles and mediums of art even 3 dimensional so be sure to look at my Sculpture Gallery. I love all styles of art if executed well. We live in such an amazing artistic era. New things are being tried every day. Those of us who use artistic creativity have such an amazing outlet with limitless possibilities because new technologies that are being produced. I'm excited to see what's on the horizon. I've found that my niche in fine art is to understand good design, know how to use technology and execute a piece to the best of my ability.
